The Principal, Mr Gerry Connolly, has stated that he was delighted with the excellent results achieved by the Leaving Certificate students at Oaklands Community College. The results reflected the hard work, commitment and dedication of the teachers, students and parents alike. It was particularly satisfying to see so many students reach their potential with a high percentage securing enough points to achieve their first preference choices. Excellent results were also achieved by the Leaving Certificate Applied students with many already having secured employment and others continuing their educational journey in PLC courses.
He also expressed his gratitude to the teaching staff for their continued hard work and dedication both inside and outside the classroom that made the achievement of their students possible. He commended parents for the continued support given to school management and staff over the years.
He thanked both school guidance counsellors, Ms Harrington and Ms Monahan for making themselves available on the day and subsequent days to advise and offer assistance to students and parents regarding CAO offers and college entry. On behalf of all members of the school community he wished all students continued success in their future careers. He urged parents not to hesitate to contact the school should they require any support or assistance.
