I am delighted to be appointed as the new Principal of Oaklands Community College and, together with our Deputy Principals, Ms O’Shea and Mr Quinn, I am proud to introduce you to our school.

We are a co-educational, multi-denominational post-primary school, consistently recognised for a student-centred approach that places wellbeing to the fore. At the heart of everything we do are the ETBI core values of Excellence in Education, Care, Equality, Community and Respect, which shape our culture, policies and daily practice. These values underpin high expectations for learning, a safe and caring environment, inclusive opportunities for every learner, strong partnerships with families and the wider community, and a climate of mutual respect.
Our school is a dynamic and vibrant centre of teaching and learning. The Department of Education Inspectorate has noted “the exceptional culture of learning in the school, evidenced by the emphasis on school improvement and the focus on pedagogy.” We offer extensive curricular and co-curricular programmes and, in partnership with the entire school community, we maintain comprehensive policies that promote academic excellence and support the welfare of every student. Our vision is to continue to improve learning, teaching and wellbeing, with a close, collaborative partnership with students and parents/guardians at the centre of this mission.

You will have the opportunity to tour the school, meet staff, hear from students and, most importantly, discuss your child’s educational needs and how we can best support their aspirations.
